Unbelievable Success: Festival Season Sales Kick Off with Record-Breaking Boom for E-Com Giants | Company News
The festival season has begun with a bang for e-commerce giants like Amazon, Meesho, and Myntra, each reporting unprecedented success across several key metrics, such as customer visits, order volumes, and delivery speeds.
At Amazon’s Great Indian Festival sale, the company recorded a whopping 11 crore customer visits within the first 48 hours, with an overwhelming 80% of these coming from tier-2 and smaller towns. The sale saw the highest engagement from Prime members, who purchased items at eight times the usual rate during the first 24 hours of Prime Early Access. Impressively, over 300,000 products were delivered on the same day or the next day. Small and Medium Businesses (SMBs) sold over 1,500 units every minute, with 8,000 sellers surpassing Rs 100,000 in sales, and more than 65% of orders were placed by customers from tier-2 and tier-3 cities. EMI options played a significant role, with one out of every five purchases made via EMI and four out of five being No Cost EMI.
Meesho’s Mega Blockbuster sale also reported stellar numbers, doubling its Day 1 orders compared to the previous year. The platform saw nearly 6.5 crore visitors on the first day and achieved more than triple its daily orders. Popular categories like kurtis, sarees, and kids’ wear sold in hundreds per minute. Leading to the sale, about 1.5 crore app downloads were observed, and Meesho Mall experienced approximately 2.5 times growth in orders compared to last year.
Myntra’s Big Fashion Festival sale recorded 120 million visitors during early access and the first day. The platform saw a significant influx of new users, with 15 times more registering compared to regular days, and a twofold increase in orders per minute at peak times. On the opening day, Myntra’s orders surged four times over the usual number, with Loyalty Program members (Insiders) contributing 5.5 times more than typical during the initial two hours of early access. Key product categories like beauty and personal care, as well as sports footwear, saw over a 50% rise in demand, while home products and wearables soared past 100% compared to the previous year.
In summary, these e-commerce platforms have shattered records, marking an exceptional start to the festival season.
