Heartbreaking Loss: Bajaj Finance Staff Member Dies by Suicide After Allegations of Severe Harassment and Overwhelming Work Pressure
Bajaj Finance Manager Dies by Suicide Following Alleged Workplace Harassment
A 42-year-old area manager at Bajaj Finance, Tarun Saxena, has reportedly died by suicide due to alleged intense harassment and pressure from his superiors. Saxena’s lifeless body was found at his residence this morning. A suicide note recovered from the scene claims Saxena faced relentless pressure to meet unachievable recovery targets over the past two months, with threats of salary deductions if he failed.
Saxena’s body was discovered by the family’s housekeeper, who alerted his brother. Upon arrival, the brother unlocked a room where Saxena had locked his wife and two children before taking his life. Authorities quickly responded, securing the body and initiating post-mortem procedures. Superintendent of Police Gyanendra Kumar confirmed the suicide note, which directly accuses Saxena’s superiors of harassment.
Family members allege that excessive pressure from Bajaj Finance officials led to Saxena’s tragic decision. Gaurav Saxena, Tarun’s cousin, mentioned a recent conference call where Tarun was reprimanded by company officials Vaibhav Saxena and Prabhakar Mishra for not meeting collection targets, resulting in salary cuts.
Saxena leaves behind his father, a retired clerk, his wife, and two young children. Despite the serious accusations, Bajaj Finance has yet to issue a statement regarding the allegations. The family awaits a thorough investigation based on their formal complaint, seeking justice for Tarun.
This incident highlights growing concerns over workplace stress, especially in sectors with heavy performance demands. The case underscores the urgent need for better mental health support and humane working conditions in such high-pressure industries.
