International News Alert: Catastrophic Floods and Landslides in Nepal Claim 192 Lives

Kathmandu, Sept 30: The death toll from the catastrophic floods and landslides induced by relentless rainfall in Nepal has escalated to 192 as of Monday morning, according to Rishiram Tiwari, the spokesperson for the home ministry. Additionally, 30 individuals remain missing while 194 people have sustained injuries.

Tiwari detailed that rescue operations have successfully evacuated over 4,500 affected residents, with security forces continuing their relentless efforts. He assured that the injured are receiving free medical treatment and that the government has accelerated the distribution of essential relief materials, including food, to the displaced populations.

The natural calamities, which began with continuous rains on Friday and Saturday, have resulted in the destruction of 1,327 houses and significant damage to 19 major highways across the country. Efforts are underway to clear these vital transportation routes, with security forces actively involved in the process.

This devastating event highlights the urgent need for robust disaster management and preparedness in the region.
