India faces diplomatic challenges if pressured to extradite Hasina, anticipating potential death penalty outcomes from a politically charged trial in Bangladesh.
Yunus advocates waiting for a UN fact-finding mission led by Volker Türk to conclude its investigation into the Monsoon Revolution’s violence before any trial proceeds. India, traditionally a steadfast ally of Hasina, is now contemplating her future, with some officials suggesting Russia as a feasible safe haven due to its history of resisting extradition demands.
