Kejriwal Blasts Modi Amid Fiery Clashes; BJP Alarmed Over ‘Contaminated’ Water Crisis
Arvind Kejriwal Criticizes PM Modi Over Induction of ‘Corrupt’ Leaders
Delhi Chief Minister and AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday for integrating 25 opposition leaders, previously labeled as “corrupt” by the BJP, into the party. The remarks came during the two-day Assembly session, where Kejriwal also alleged misuse of central probe agencies.
Kejriwal didn’t hold back on the RSS either, accusing them of merely facilitating defections from the Congress, NCP, and Shiv Sena to the BJP as the RSS leaders allegedly never receive election tickets themselves.
Earlier in the session, Vijender Gupta, Leader of the Opposition, raised alarms about escalating groundwater pollution in Delhi. Gupta cited a report from the Central Ground Water Board, indicating significant deterioration in water quality over the past three years, and accused the Delhi government of inaction. He also called on Environment Minister Gopal Rai to present the report to the Assembly.
Chief Minister Atishi fired back at the BJP, accusing it of orchestrating baseless conspiracies that led to Kejriwal’s wrongful imprisonment for six months, forcing his resignation. Atishi vowed that Delhiites would answer the BJP’s alleged plots by granting AAP a sweeping victory in the upcoming February Assembly elections, predicting a clean sweep of all 70 seats for Kejriwal’s return as CM.
