Outrage in BSF Protests Over Alarming Illegal Crossings and Abduction at Biral Border by Bangladeshi Nationals
In a significant security breach along the India-Bangladesh border, the Border Security Force (BSF) lodged a formal protest with the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) after one of its personnel was abducted by Bangladeshi miscreants. The incident occurred during a routine patrol near the Biral border in Dinajpur, India.
The abduction involved a group of 15 to 20 illegal Bangladeshi nationals who crossed into Indian territory and forcibly took the BSF jawan into Bangladesh. He was later handed over to the custody of the BGB.
Reacting swiftly to the incident, the Inspector General of BSF North Bengal contacted the Region Commander of BGB’s North West Region, demanding the immediate and safe release of the abducted personnel. Intensive diplomatic and security measures were initiated, leading to a high-level meeting between the Sector Commanders of both forces.
Following the negotiations, the BGB returned the abducted BSF personnel, ensuring his safe return to India. The BSF has expressed serious concerns over the security lapse and is engaging with Bangladeshi authorities to prevent similar incidents in the future.
