Research Director Tarun Pathak from Counterpoint noted a strong initial sales performance, with some sellers reporting an 18-20% increase in opening day sales compared to the previous year. The accessible pricing for the Pro models, now starting at Rs 1,19,900, down from Rs 1,39,900 for the iPhone 15 Pro, significantly boosted their appeal. Another noteworthy trend saw customers expanding their Apple ecosystem by purchasing new AirPods 4 and Apple Watches alongside their iPhones.
Analysts project another record quarter for Apple in India, driven by the “Make in India” initiative, which aims for 25% of iPhone production to move to the country by 2025. This move, coupled with festive season demand and local manufacturing, bodes well for Apple’s future in one of the world’s fastest-growing smartphone markets.
