Tripura Government Announces Increased Festival Allowances for Employees
Agartala: In a move to provide financial relief and support ahead of the festive season, the Tripura government has announced a substantial increase in festival allowances for its employees. The Department of Finance has issued a memorandum detailing the revised rates for the Festival Grant and Festival Advance, offering a financial boost to various categories of workers.
Under the new scheme, Group C and Group D employees, Daily Rated Workers (DRWs), pensioners, and priests in government-run temples will each receive a festival allowance of Rs 2,000. Part-Time Workers (PTWs), contractual workers, and casual workers will receive a slightly higher amount of Rs 2,200.
The scheme is inclusive of pensioners and family pensioners, who will both receive Rs 2,000 as a festival grant. Additionally, Anganwadi workers, helpers, home guards, and special police officers (SPOs) are among the beneficiaries of the increased allowances. The memorandum indicates that employees under Central Schemes will have their grants determined separately by the concerned department.
Employees can avail of the revised festival allowance once per financial year on significant occasions such as Durga Puja, Christmas, Garia Puja, Buddha Purnima, Ed-Uz-Zuha, Ed-Ul-Fitre, Guru Nanak’s birthday, or Mahavir Jayanti.
This increase in festival allowances is expected to bring much-needed financial relief to government employees in Tripura, allowing them to celebrate the upcoming festive season with greater ease and joy.
