PM Modi Unveils Quad’s Enduring Partnership: Unshakeable Commitment to Support and Growth at Leaders’ Summit
Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the Quad’s commitment to a free, open, inclusive, and prosperous Indo-Pacific during his opening remarks at the Quad Leaders Summit in Delaware, US. Modi highlighted that the Quad is dedicated to staying the course, providing assistance, forming partnerships, and complementing efforts in various domains. He noted the Quad’s initiatives span health, security, critical and emerging technology, and climate change. Modi also expressed his anticipation of hosting the Quad Leaders Summit in India next year.
Global challenges like climate change and emerging technologies featured prominently on the Quad Summit’s agenda. The summit aims to address a wide array of issues pertinent to the member countries.
Earlier, Prime Minister Modi engaged in bilateral talks with US President Joe Biden in Delaware, marking a special occasion as Biden hosted Modi at his residence in Greenville. The leaders discussed deepening the India-US partnership, addressing global and regional issues, including the Indo-Pacific. Modi described the talks as extremely fruitful, while Biden remarked that the US-India partnership is stronger and more dynamic than ever.
Upon Modi’s arrival at Philadelphia International Airport, he received an enthusiastic welcome from the Indian diaspora, who gathered in large numbers and chanted his name. Modi watched a Garba performance by the Indian community at Hotel duPont in Wilmington and interacted with its members. In his social media post, Modi commended the Indian community in the US for their positive impact across various sectors and stated that interacting with them is always a delight.
Following his Delaware visit, Modi will proceed to New York to engage further with the Indian diaspora.
