Urgent Plea for Unity: Kiren Rijiju Advocates Dialogue to Restore Peace in Manipur
Union Minister Kiren Rijiju has underscored the importance of restoring peace in Manipur, a state currently embroiled in conflict, through open dialogue between feuding communities. Speaking at the Northeast Students’ Festival organized by My Home India, Rijiju emphasized the need for peaceful discussions to bridge divides.
“It is essential to restore peace in Manipur. Both communities must come together through dialogue. Dialogues will have to be there,” Rijiju stated, addressing the gathering.
The event, themed “Ek Bharat Shreshth Bharat,” aimed to unify youth from the northeastern states with those from other parts of India, fostering national unity and regional development. Rijiju conveyed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s message, stressing the importance of national solidarity for a stronger country. “We have told people about the Prime Minister’s message—that we must unite to make the country stronger. A united Bharat will become a Shreshth Bharat,” he added.
Rijiju also reflected on the region’s progress over the past decade, noting significant positive changes. The festival sought to enhance connections and mutual understanding between northeastern students and their peers nationwide, highlighting the crucial role of national integration.
Overall, the event underscored the importance of dialogue, unity, and national cohesion in building a stronger India.
