Stunning Blow to YSRCP: Balineni’s Shocking Exit Rocks Ongole
Balineni Srinivasa Reddy Resigns from YSR Congress Party
Balineni Srinivasa Reddy, a seasoned politician and former Minister, has resigned from the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP). Citing personal reasons in a letter to party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, he expressed concerns over the state’s development and the welfare of its people. "Regardless of politics, the state’s progress is my priority. I have consistently opposed Jagan Mohan Reddy’s flawed political decisions," he stated.
Reflecting on his political journey that began under former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, Srinivasa Reddy mentioned his departure from a ministerial role in unified Andhra Pradesh to support Jagan’s Odarpu Yatra, where despite significant support from former Congress members, they were not rewarded with ministerial positions.
Highlighting his dissatisfaction with the current government, Srinivasa Reddy criticized the YSRCP for ignoring his warnings about spurious liquor harming the state’s residents. He emphasized, "The welfare of people is more important to me than power."
Reddy is scheduled to meet Jana Sena Party (JSP) president and Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan in Vijayawada. Praising JSP’s mature politics, he noted Pawan Kalyan’s resilience against criticisms from YSRCP leaders and his non-confrontational approach after assuming power.
