Heartbreaking Loss: Lokesh Kanagaraj Devastated by Leaked Nagarjuna ‘Coolie’ Scene After 2 Months of Dedication
Director Lokesh Kanagaraj Appeals Against Leaking Videos from ‘Coolie’ Film Set
Following the unauthorized leak of a video featuring actor Nagarjuna on the set of director Lokesh Kanagaraj’s upcoming film "Coolie" in Visakhapatnam, Kanagaraj issued an urgent plea on social media. Addressing the issue, he emphasized that such leaks undermine the immense efforts of the film’s cast and crew.
“Two months of hard work by many people have gone in vain because of one recording. I humbly request everyone not to engage in such practices, as they spoil the overall experience. Thank you,” Kanagaraj stated on X.
The film "Coolie," headlined by Rajinikanth, is among the most anticipated Tamil films of 2025. To mark Nagarjuna’s birthday on August 29, the production team officially announced his inclusion in the film. Kanagaraj extended his excitement on X, saying, “Kicked to have King @iamnagarjuna sir joining the cast of #Coolie as #Simon. Welcome on board and wishing you a very happy birthday sir (sic).”
The film also features a star-studded cast including Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj, Soubin Shahir, and Mahendran in pivotal roles, with persistent rumors of Aamir Khan making a cameo appearance.
"Coolie," a Tamil pan-India film, boasts a substantial budget and is expected to hit theaters in the latter half of next year. Though initially speculated to be part of the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU), Kanagaraj clarified in an interview that "Coolie" is a standalone film. The LCU comprises films like "Leo," "Kaithi 2," "Vikram 2," and an upcoming spin-off yet to be announced.
As the director’s appeal underscores, preserving the integrity of the film-making process is paramount to maintaining the audience’s authentic viewing experience.
