Uttarakhand Miracle: Stranded Adi Kailash Yatra Pilgrims in Pithoragarh Safely Rescued Amid Emotional Ordeal
In Uttarakhand’s Pithoragarh district, pilgrims stranded along the Adi Kailash Yatra route have been successfully rescued. Rescue operations, conducted with the aid of a helicopter, have ensured the safe evacuation of 63 individuals, who were transported to the army helipad in Dharchula. The helicopter completed fourteen flights from Dharchula, retrieving people from Budi, Khela, and Sirkha.
Of the 63 rescued, 46 are Adi Kailash pilgrims from various states, while the remaining 17 are residents of high-altitude villages within the district. The helicopter service has played a crucial role in relocating these individuals as ongoing relief and rescue efforts continue to address the needs of those stranded in sensitive high-altitude areas.
These rescue operations were initiated following heavy rains and landslides that occurred on September 13, which left many pilgrims stranded along the Adi Kailash Yatra route. Local administration has assured that the affected travel route will be operational again within two to three days.
As the rescue mission progresses, authorities remain dedicated to ensuring the safety and swift evacuation of all affected individuals.
