Guwahati: Two Civilians Killed in Police Firing During Eviction Drive in Sonapur
In a tragic turn of events, two civilians lost their lives in police firing amid an eviction drive on Thursday in Sonapur, located on the outskirts of Guwahati, Assam. The clash unfolded when police attempted to evict alleged illegal settlers from a 100-bigha plot of land in the Kachutoli area.
The deceased have been identified as Haider Ali and Juwahid Ali, both of whom succumbed to their injuries at Sonapur District Hospital. Those with serious injuries were promptly transferred to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for further treatment.
