Passionate Cow Protection Rally ‘Gau Dhwaj Sthapana Bharat Yatra’ Reaches Nagaland on Sept 28 – Empowering Tradition | Northeast News
KOHIMA: The Gau Dhwaj Sthapana Bharat Yatra, a significant movement advocating for the prohibition of cow slaughter across India, will arrive in Nagaland’s capital, Kohima, on September 28. This nationwide initiative is part of the larger Gau Pratishtha Andolan, which aims to elevate the status of the cow to ‘Rashtra Mata’ (Mother of the Nation), include cow protection in the Indian Constitution, and ultimately eradicate cow slaughter in the country.
The yatra will commence on September 22 in Ayodhya with a grand Gau Pratishtha Sammelan and will traverse the entire nation until its culmination in New Delhi on October 26. The journey will involve Shankaracharya and Pujya Gopal Mani traveling to every state and Union Territory, where they will install a sacred Gau Dhwaj (cow flag) in each state capital.
In Kohima, Shankaracharya is set to arrive on the evening of September 27. The following day, he will lead the installation ceremony of the Gau Dhwaj at the Gau Mahasabha from 9 AM to 12 PM, before heading to Imphal, Manipur.
This event was announced at a press conference in Kohima on Sunday by Brahmachari Mukundanand, a representative of the yatra’s convenor, alongside co-convenor Gobhakt Vikas Panti and state yatra convenor Swami Ratneshwaranand Trith.
The primary objective of the yatra is to unite cow devotees from across India under a shared cause and reaffirm the cow’s revered status, encapsulated in the movement’s slogan: “Gau Mata, Rashtra Mata – Rashtra Mata, Bharat Mata.”
The Gau Dhwaj Sthapana Bharat Yatra aims to build momentum for cow protection laws and inspire nationwide solidarity among cow supporters, advancing a vision of India free from cow slaughter.
