NST Announces Revised Schedule for State Helicopter Services in Nagaland
Dimapur, September 8 (MExN): The Nagaland State Transport (NST) has announced an updated weekly schedule for its State Helicopter service, effective immediately. While the new schedule is largely similar to the one released in January, it now includes additional contact details for regular and medical evacuation or charter services. The helicopter services cover Dimapur, 20 districts, and other administrative hubs in Nagaland.
For medical emergencies and charter services, contact numbers are provided: 9774329903 and 986237022. Importantly, for medical services, patients must present a fit-to-fly certificate authorized by a registered medical practitioner. Charter requisitions should be submitted to the NST GM office at least 48 hours in advance. An extra 10 minutes of flying time will be added for the Hangar to Apron transition and vice versa.
The helicopter’s carrying capacity varies based on passenger weight, with a baggage allowance of up to 5 kilos per person. The operation is contingent on weather, technical conditions, a minimum 80% load factor in both directions, and the availability of safe landing helipads.
Fares range from Rs 1625 for a 25-minute flight from Dimapur to Peren, Wokha, and Tseminyu, to Rs 3900 for a one-hour flight to Tizit and Mon. Passengers benefit from a 75% subsidy, making the fare 25% of the total cost, while infants (0-2 years) are charged at 10%.
Medical evacuation charges vary based on flight duration, from Rs 30,000 for Dimapur to Peren, Wokha, and Tseminyu, to Rs 65,000 for trips to Mon and Tizit. Chartering fees for these routes are Rs 120,000 and Rs 260,000, respectively.
This revised schedule aims to enhance the convenience and accessibility of helicopter services in Nagaland, ensuring efficient transportation for both regular passengers and those requiring urgent medical or charter services.
