Exciting News: Enhanced Ferry Service from Nagapattinam to Sri Lanka Now Available Six Days a Week!
The recently resumed passenger ferry service between Nagapattinam in Tamil Nadu and Kankesanthurai in Sri Lanka is set to increase its frequency, adding an additional weekly sailing starting 21st September 2024. Initially launched with the new vessel “Sivagangai” on 16th August 2024, the service operated daily before being scaled back to three days a week—Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays—due to lower-than-expected bookings. This schedule will be maintained until 15th September, after which the new Saturday sailing will be introduced.
Passengers can book tickets through the official website www.sailindsri.com, the ‘Sail IndSri’ app, or registered travel agents. This move aims to cater to the increasing demand for cross-border travel between India and Sri Lanka. The initiative reflects IndSri’s commitment to enhancing service offerings to better meet passenger needs.
