Historic Triumph: ATTF, NLFT Rebels Surrender after 35 Years, Tripura Celebrates Unprecedented Peace Accord
In a firm assurance to cadres of the NLFT and ATTF, Shah pledged unwavering commitment to honoring various peace agreements. He highlighted a series of accords initiated to foster stability and harmony in the region. The journey began with the NLFT-SD accord in 2019, marking a significant step towards peace. This was followed by several other crucial accords: the Bru-Reang accord, the Bodo accord, and the Karbi accord in 2021, each contributing to regional stability and demonstrating the government’s dedication to resolving long-standing disputes.
The year 2022 saw the Assam’s Adivasi Peace Accord and the resolution of the inter-state border disputes between Assam and Meghalaya. Continuing this momentum, the Assam-Arunachal inter-state border dispute was settled in 2023. In the same year, significant strides were made with the signing of the Dimasa National Liberation Army (DNLA) peace accord, followed by the United National Liberation Front (UNLF) peace accord, and the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) peace accord.
This series of accords underscores the government’s comprehensive and sustained efforts to ensure lasting peace and development in the North East. Shah’s commitment to honoring each agreement “to the last detail” conveys a strong message of stability and hope, reinforcing the government’s resolve to resolve conflicts through dialogue and collaboration. These efforts reflect a transformative approach aimed at fostering an environment of trust and progress across the region.
