Exciting Opportunity: Empower SC Students in Assam with Pre-Matric Scholarships for Classes I to VIII!
Guwahati: The Directorate of Welfare of Scheduled Caste & Backward Classes, Assam, has announced the opening of applications for the Pre-Matric Scholarship for Scheduled Caste students in Classes I to VIII for the 2024-25 academic year. This initiative is targeted at students enrolled in government educational institutions across Assam.
Eligible students must be from families with an annual income not exceeding ₹2.50 lakh. To apply, students need to provide a self-attested photocopy of a joint bank account with one parent, a caste certificate, and an annual income certificate issued by the Circle Officer.
Heads of educational institutions are tasked with gathering the necessary documents and lists of eligible students. They are required to submit these compiled lists, along with the original application forms, to the Sub-Divisional Welfare Officer. The Sub-Divisional Welfare Officers will then verify the submissions and forward the compiled list, both in hard copy and digital format (Excel), to the Directorate by November 15, 2024.
Additionally, Assam will observe Sootea Day on August 20, celebrating the cultural heritage and contributions of the Sootea community.
