Tragic Incident in Assam: Heartbreaking RPSF Officer’s Self-Harm Sparks Urgent Police Investigation
In a tragic incident at Silchar railway station in Assam’s Cachar district, a Railway Protection Special Force (RPSF) personnel reportedly took his life on Tuesday, September 3. The jawan, identified as Sanuj Chauhan from Uttar Pradesh, allegedly used his service revolver to shoot himself while on duty near the office of the Deputy Chief Engineer of Northeast Frontier (NF) Railway in Silchar.
Chauhan, who had been transferred to Silchar from the Lumding office just three days prior, was found in critical condition by his colleagues. They rushed him to Silchar Medical College, where, despite their efforts, he was declared dead upon arrival.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the station, with local police launching an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the suicide.
