Jayasurya Breaks His Silence: Courageously Addresses Me Too Allegations with Unwavering Resolve
Amidst two sexual harassment allegations, actor Jayasurya announced he will tackle the issue legally. In an Instagram post on his birthday, Jayasurya thanked supporters while revealing he was in America for a month with family when the accusations surfaced. He expressed how the false claims devastated them and stated, “False allegations are easy to make for anyone who lacks a conscience.”
Jayasurya expressed confidence in the judicial system and said his legal team would handle the case. “A lie always travels faster than the truth, but I believe truth will prevail, and I will be back as soon as I finish my work here,” he added.
The Kerala police have registered FIRs against Jayasurya and other actors amid the Hema Committee’s exposure of exploitation in the Malayalam film industry. Actress Sonia Malhar detailed her encounter of harassment while filming “Pigman,” alleging Jayasurya’s misconduct and subsequent apology. Malhar faced social media criticism after sharing her story publicly.
Additionally, actress Minu Muneer filed a complaint of sexual abuse against multiple actors, including Jayasurya, leading to another FIR against him. Muneer revealed instances of physical and verbal abuse dating back to 2013 on her Facebook page.
The unfolding allegations highlight a broader issue within the Malayalam film industry as reported by the Hema Committee. FIRs were registered under various IPC sections, with cases transferred for further investigation. The legal battle continues as Jayasurya and co-accused actors face scrutiny.
