Unveiling India’s Legacy: Sarbananda Sonowal on the Monumental Vadhvan Port Project
Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal urged the youth of Assam and the Northeastern region to explore career opportunities in the maritime sector, emphasizing the significant job prospects and regional development spurred by the new Vadhvan Port. Highlighting the importance of the port, he stated, “The Vadhvan Port is a unique gift to the people of Maharashtra and a shining example of national benefit. It is expected to play a crucial role in building a self-reliant and prosperous India.”
Sonowal predicted that the port would be among the world’s top ten container handling ports and anticipated nearly 1 lakh jobs during its construction phase. He also pointed out that the port’s development would enhance the Palghar region as an attractive tourist destination.
Commending the Maharashtra government and its citizens for their active cooperation, Sonowal noted the port’s potential contributions to national economic strength and enhanced export flows. The project stands out as an essential step in boosting India’s maritime capabilities and regional growth.
