Assam Down Town University Stuns with Thrilling Swimming Championship: Unmissable Events Ignite Excitement – Northeast News
GUWAHATI: Assam down town University (AdtU) hosted an exhilarating swimming championship on Thursday, showcasing eight dynamic events for both boys and girls. The championship drew the participation of young swimmers who demonstrated impressive skills across various categories.
The event was attended by notable guests including Subudh Malla Baruah, chairman of the Asian Sports Journalist Association and Assam Sports Journalist Association; international gold medalist Bikash Boruah; sports journalist and CEO of Sports Academy Rupak Baisya; and sports organizer Rajeeb Das.
In the 50m Backstroke (Boys) category, Nibir Nitin Krow clinched first place, followed by Nihal Hazarika and Wasbir Rahman securing second and third positions respectively. On the girls’ side, Antara Aziza took the gold, with Luna Bania and Disha Rani Pathak finishing in second and third positions.
The 50m Butterfly events saw Nibir Nilim Kraw winning for the boys, trailed by Nayanmoni Das and Kirti Kamal Hazarika. Antara Aziza triumphed again in the girls’ event, with Reema Limbu and Urshita Malakar finishing behind her.
In the 50m Breaststroke (Boys), Nahar Das achieved first place, while Tanmoy Rabha and Jyotiraditya Medhi followed. For the girls, Luna Bania emerged victorious, with Shruti Hazarika and Monjita Saikia in second and third places.
Freestyle events saw Nahar Das winning for the boys, followed by Nihar Hazarika and Hrishikesh Malakar. For the girls, Reema Limbu secured the top spot, with Shruti Hazarika and Monjita Saikia close behind.
“Sports are an integral part of our curriculum at AdtU,” stated an official from the university. “We believe that events like these help build character, discipline, and camaraderie among our students.
