Heartbreaking Tragedy: 76-Year-Old Woman Killed by Stray Dogs During Morning Walk in Bengaluru
A tragic incident unfolded in Bengaluru on the morning of August 28, when a 76-year-old woman, Raj Dulari Sinha, was fatally attacked by nearly a dozen stray dogs during her morning walk at the Air Force playground in Jalahalli. The attack happened around 6:30 a.m. in the Air Force East 7th Residential Camp area. Sinha, a retired teacher residing in the locality, and the mother-in-law of an airman, sustained severe injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital. Tragically, she was declared “brought dead” upon arrival.
A passer-by, Hariskrishnan, witnessed the horrific event and immediately sought help by shouting. He later took to social media to share his account, expressing his guilt for being unable to aid the victim himself due to a compound wall. He detailed the scene, noting that another individual eventually arrived and managed to chase the dogs away. His post tagged the Indian Air Force and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, highlighting the urgency and gravity of the situation.
“Dozen of stray dogs attacked a lady. I shouted, and my family joined me, until a gentleman arrived and chased the dogs away. I feel guilty I couldn’t help her because of this wall,” Hariskrishnan posted on X.
Senior police and civic officials quickly arrived at the scene following the incident. The Gangammanagudi police have filed a report indicating the death as unnatural. The incident has raised concerns about the safety of residents in areas frequented by stray dogs, urging local authorities to take immediate action to prevent such tragedies.
