Emotionally Charged Revelation: Karnataka CM Exposes the Grim Truth – Caste Inequality Advocates Killed Mahatma Gandhi
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah Laments Rising Casteism Among Educated Individuals at International Symposium
Bengaluru witnessed a thought-provoking address by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah during the international symposium, ‘Mahatma Gandhi for the 21st Century’, organized at Gandhi Bhavan on Saturday. Reflecting on current societal challenges, the Chief Minister expressed deep concern over the increasing casteist tendencies among educated individuals. He reminisced about the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi by those who perpetuated caste inequality and highlighted the pervasive impact of the caste system that historically deprived many of education and propagated inequality.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah criticized the continued belief in superstitions and the theory of Karma Siddhanta among educated people, attributing this to a lack of proper scientific education. He referenced historical figures like Basava, who rejected karma theory 850 years ago, underscoring the need for a rational and scientific approach in today’s society. Emphasizing Jawaharlal Nehru’s leadership, Siddaramaiah praised Nehru for fostering a society rooted in scientific and rational principles.
Countering superstitious claims that his tenure as Chief Minister would bring drought to Karnataka, Siddaramaiah pointed out that the state witnessed good rains this year, debunking such unfounded beliefs.
Moreover, the Chief Minister announced government plans to commemorate the centenary of the Congress session in Belagavi, which was presided over by Mahatma Gandhi, ensuring the celebration would be meaningful and poignant. The event featured notable attendees including Gandhi Memorial Fund President Ramachandra Rahi, Law Minister H.K. Patil, Working President Vishukumar, and New Delhi Memorial Fund President Sanjoy Singh.
This symposium not only provided a platform for addressing crucial social issues but also re-emphasized Mahatma Gandhi’s timeless principles and their relevance in the 21st century.
