Drug Bust in Ri Bhoi: Police Intercept and Arrest Driver with Narcotics
Nongpoh, August 14: In a decisive operation, the Ri Bhoi District police executed a raid at Downgate following a tip-off, resulting in the interception of a white Alto car bearing the registration number ML10C 0012. The vehicle was driven by Vicky Lyngdoh, a 23-year-old resident from the village of 20 Mer Pahammawlein.
A meticulous search of the car uncovered 2.47 grams of heroin, alongside two mobile phones, five unused injection syringes, a packet marked Ex-A1 and B1, and an envelope labeled Ex-A & B containing two small-sized pink-colored tobacco containers.
The police promptly arrested Vicky Lyngdoh and registered a case at Nongpoh police station. The ongoing investigation aims to unearth other possible accomplices involved in this narcotic trafficking case, aligning with the provisions stipulated under the Narcotic Drugs & Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
