Determined Lovlina Borgohain Calls Olympic Loss ‘Unlucky,’ Promises Triumphant Comeback
Indian boxer Lovlina Borgohain has reflected on her quarter-final loss at the Paris Olympics, attributing the defeat to luck and vowing to come back stronger in future contests. Borgohain’s Olympic campaign concluded with a 4:1 defeat to China’s Li Qian in the women’s 75 kg category.
In an interview with ANI, Borgohain expressed optimism about her future in boxing, stating, “Hopefully, I will be stronger for the next Olympics.” The match saw her losing the first two sets by a narrow margin of 3:2, with the final round ending in a 4:1 decision for Li Qian.
Despite her personal disappointment, Borgohain demonstrated sportsmanship by commending fellow Indian athlete Manu Bhaker. “I want to thank her for achieving what we couldn’t at the Paris Olympics and making our nation proud. I hope she will have a bright future,” she said.
As Borgohain sets her sights on future competitions, her resilience and determination promise brighter prospects for Indian boxing.
