Shocking Reaction: NCP SP’s Rohit Pawar and Jayant Patil Slam Devendra Fadnavis Over Explosive Sachin Waze Allegation
Leaders from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) on Saturday refuted allegations made by dismissed police officer Sachin Waze against former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh. They also questioned the timing of Waze’s statements while accusing Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis of plotting to discredit opposition figures.
Waze, currently implicated in a ₹100 crore extortion case, claimed in a letter to Fadnavis that he had named Jayant Patil in his accusations. Responding to this, NCP leader Jayant Patil dismissed Waze’s claims, emphasizing that Waze has been jailed for 1.5 years with serious charges against him. Patil questioned the sudden emergence of Waze’s letter, suggesting it might be a conspiracy to tarnish opposition leaders’ reputations.
Patil expressed hope that Fadnavis would clarify the contents of the letter once he receives it. He also mentioned he had no recollection of meeting Waze. Meanwhile, NCP leader Rohit Pawar expressed suspicion over Waze’s sudden media statements on medical grounds, implying a potential strategy by Fadnavis. Pawar affirmed the party’s support for Anil Deshmukh and dismissed any plans by Fadnavis or the ruling alliance as unacceptable to the public.
NCP MP Supriya Sule also questioned which Jayant Patil Waze was referring to and pointed out the suspicious timing of the allegations. Waze, accused in the 2021 Antilia bomb scare and Mansukh Hiren murder case, claimed he provided evidence to the CBI and mentioned Patil in his letter to Fadnavis.
The NCP leaders collectively dismissed Waze’s allegations as unfounded and viewed them as a politically motivated attempt to malign their party.
