STF Assam Nabs Drug Peddler in Guwahati Raid
Guwahati, July 30, 2024 – A 20-year-old narcotics peddler named Sonauddin was apprehended by the Special Task Force (STF) of Assam Police during a raid in Guwahati on Tuesday. Acting on reliable intelligence inputs, the STF conducted the operation at Navoday Nagar, Natun Bazar-Patorkuchi PWD Road, under the jurisdiction of Basistha Police Station.
Sonauddin, a resident of Pilling Kata in the Kamrup (Metropolitan) district and originally from Bhokarmari Char village in Kamrup district, was found in possession of 30 vials containing 40 grams of suspected heroin. Along with the narcotics, the STF also seized his mobile handset and his Ntorq two-wheeler, bearing registration number AS 01 ED 2609.
Authorities have stated that Sonauddin is currently being processed for further legal action. The operation highlights the STF’s continued efforts to combat drug trafficking in Assam.
