Mumbai: Man Detained in Gruesome Murder of 20-Year-Old Woman in Navi Mumbai
Mumbai: Police have detained a man connected to the brutal murder of 20-year-old Yashashree Shinde in Maharashtra’s Navi Mumbai. Shinde, who had been missing, was found dead last Saturday, her body abandoned in bushes near a railway station in Uran.
The suspect, identified as Mohsin from Karnataka, was frequently in contact with Shinde according to phone records. Authorities are delving into his possible connection with the main perpetrator and plan to bring him to Uran for further questioning today.
Investigators report that Shinde’s body had multiple injuries and stab wounds, pointing to a violent murder. Preliminary findings suggest the crime stemmed from a failed love affair. The victim’s boyfriend, who disappeared around the same time, remains the prime suspect. Police have registered a murder case and formed five teams to locate him.
Shinde, a resident of Uran, commuted about 25 km to her job in Belapur, Navi Mumbai.
