Barpeta, July 28: Renowned yet controversial author Ismail Hussain is embroiled in legal controversy after accusations that he killed a snake and encouraged others to follow suit. A First Information Report (FIR) has been lodged against Hussain at the Howly Police Station in Barpeta district by snake conservationist Pranjit Rajbongshi. The complaint alleges that Hussain killed a non-venomous snake on the premises of an engineering institute in Jorhat, subsequently sharing the act on social media.
