Haryana Government’s Game-Changing Announcement Brings Hope with Job Reservation and Age Relaxation for Agniveers in Police and Other Departments
The Haryana government has announced a 10 percent horizontal reservation for Agniveers in recruitment to specific posts within the police, mining, and jail departments. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini detailed the new policy during a press conference in Chandigarh, specifying that Agniveers will be given this reservation in the direct recruitment for constable, mining guard, forest guard, jail warden, and Special Police Officer (SPO) positions in Haryana. Additionally, Agniveers will receive an age relaxation of three years in Group D recruitment, extended to five years for the first batch.
Further inclusivity measures include a five percent horizontal reservation for Agniveers in Group C roles and a one percent reservation in Group B positions. The Chief Minister assured that Agniveers seeking employment in government departments, boards, and corporations will be prioritized in matrix scoring.
In an effort to bolster employment opportunities for Agniveers in the private sector, the government will provide an annual subsidy of ₹60,000 to industrial units that offer Agniveers a monthly salary exceeding ₹30,000. Additionally, Agniveers aspiring to establish their own enterprises will be eligible for interest-free loans up to ₹5 lakh.
Chief Minister Saini also announced that Agniveers will receive priority in the issuance of arms licenses. In case of accidents, they will be entitled to compensation under the Government of India’s Road Transport Highway Scheme and will receive free medical treatment.
This comprehensive policy aims to support Agniveers by ensuring significant employment opportunities and social security measures, thereby recognizing their service and facilitating their integration into civilian life.
