Tragic Loss: 35 Lives Lost and 250 Injured in Devastating East Afghanistan Flash Floods
At least 35 people have died and 250 are injured after rainstorms and flash floods devastated Afghanistan’s Nangarhar province. The provincial capital, Jalalabad, along with Sukh Rod District and nearby areas, were severely affected. The death toll is expected to rise.
In neighboring Kunar province, a similar disaster claimed five lives. Since May, heavy rains and flooding across Afghanistan have killed more than 400 people and left thousands homeless.
