India wrapped up its Zimbabwe tour in style by securing the five-match T20I series with a 4-1 victory. In the fifth and final match held in Harare on Sunday, India triumphed over the hosts by 42 runs, thanks to a standout half-century from Sanju Samson and a four-wicket blitz by Mukesh Kumar.
Opting to bat first, India faced early setbacks, losing their top three batsmen during the power play. However, they managed to recover and posted a respectable total of 167 for six. Shivam Dube and Rinku Singh played crucial roles, bolstering the score after Samson’s solid innings.
Zimbabwe’s chase stumbled right from the start as Mukesh Kumar delivered a stellar performance, taking two quick wickets in his opening overs. Shivam Dube also shone with the ball, claiming two wickets. Zimbabwe struggled to build momentum, losing wickets in quick succession, and were bowled out for 125 in just 18.3 overs. Dion Myers was the lone bright spot for Zimbabwe, top-scoring with 34 runs.
With this comprehensive victory, India capped off a dominant series performance, showcasing both batting depth and bowling prowess.
