Agartala, 12th September 2024: In a remarkable act of community service, Ashwini Netralaya, located at Bijay Kumar Choumuhani, provided free eye care to the elderly residents of Apnaghar Old Age Home in Barajala. On August 27, the eye hospital conducted complimentary eye examinations for 40 residents, identifying 15 individuals in need of eye surgery.
Taking their commitment a step further, Ashwini Netralaya arranged for these critical eye surgeries to be carried out at no cost on September 6. The procedures were successfully performed by a team of esteemed doctors, including Dr. Subhankar Debnath, Dr. Subrata Sahan, and Dr. Vishnu Debraj. Operational support for the surgeries was provided by Bijay Tripura and Priya Acharya.
This altruistic initiative was funded entirely by Ashwini Netralaya, with no assistance from governmental schemes. By covering all costs, the eye hospital alleviated significant financial burdens for the patients.
