Dimapur Unites for Clean Air Campaign
Dimapur, Nagaland: Students, educators, and officials gathered at Livingstone Foundation International School on Saturday to take a pledge for clean air during an event commemorating the International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies. The event, organized by the Dimapur district administration in collaboration with Livingstone Foundation Society and Breeze Women Welfare Association, featured participation from 20 schools and representatives from the Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC).
The campaign included a clean air pledge, an inter-school painting and science project competition, and a tree plantation drive, all aimed at promoting the National Clean Air Programme. This year’s theme, “Invest in Clean Air Now,” underscores the urgency of tackling air pollution.
Addressing the gathering, DMC Chairman Hukheto Yepthomi emphasized collective action to ensure clean and safe air, remarking, “Together, we can secure blue skies for all.” He also commended the efforts of the Nagaland Pollution Control Board, district administration, Breeze Women Welfare Association, and institutions like Livingstone Foundation International for initiating transformative changes in air quality management. Yepthomi assured the full support of the DMC for clean air initiatives.
