CM Chairs Meet SKM Candidates: Strategic Push for Municipal Wins
GANGTOK, March 25, 2026 — Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang‑Golay, who also serves as president of the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM), on Wednesday chaired a meeting at SammanBhawan with party candidates preparing for the upcoming General Municipal Elections 2026, urging unity, discipline and prompt completion of nomination formalities.
In an introductory session, Tamang‑Golay congratulated the candidates for their service to the party and the people, saying their consistent dedication had earned them the chance to contest. He told them the party will stand firmly behind each candidate and pledged to provide every possible support during the campaign.
Speaking on social media after the meeting, the Chief Minister asked candidates to “work collectively with humility, integrity and a strong sense of responsibility towards the welfare of our State.” He also urged them to finalise and submit their nomination papers at the earliest to ensure a smooth electoral process.
Party sources said the meeting focused on readiness, coordination at the local level and maintaining a development‑oriented campaign. Tamang‑Golay’s message underscored both organizational backing from SKM and an emphasis on ethical conduct as candidates move toward the municipal polls.
