Drukair Restores Bangkok via Guwahati; Boosts Singapore Frequency
Drukair Corporation Limited has announced it will reintroduce twice-weekly flights between Paro and Bangkok via Guwahati and add one weekly frequency to its Paro–Singapore service via Guwahati, with the changes taking effect in April 2026. The carrier says the restored Bangkok service and the increased Singapore frequency aim to strengthen regional connectivity for passengers travelling to and from Bhutan.
According to the airline, the Paro–Bangkok link will operate twice a week and will reinstate a regional connection that previously supported tourism and medical travel. The extra weekly flight to Singapore will likewise route via Guwahati, providing another international option for travellers using the Indian gateway in Assam.
The move is intended to improve access for residents of Bhutan and passengers from India’s northeast by leveraging Guwahati’s position as a transit hub to Southeast Asia. By routing flights through Guwahati, Drukair can offer more seamless connections to major cities such as Bangkok and Singapore without requiring direct long-haul services from Paro.
Travel industry observers say renewed services like these can boost tourism flows, facilitate medical and business travel, and help rebuild air links disrupted in recent years. Passengers are advised to check Drukair’s official schedules and booking channels for precise departure days, timings and ticket availability ahead of travel in April 2026.
