Have Your Say: Khandu Opens Arunachal Budget 2026–27
Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Saturday invited citizens to contribute to the state’s Budget 2026–27, asking for suggestions, ideas and feedback to make the budget process more inclusive and people‑centric. The appeal, shared on the chief minister’s X account, called on residents from all sections of society to take part in the annual financial planning exercise.
Khandu said the state government is committed to participatory governance and described citizen involvement as essential for building a stronger, more progressive and inclusive Arunachal Pradesh. “As we prepare the Arunachal Budget 2026–27, the government invites valuable suggestions, ideas and feedback from all citizens,” he wrote on X, urging people to become active partners in the development process.
The chief minister reiterated that collective public engagement would help ensure policies and budget priorities reflect the real needs and aspirations of the people. According to official information, suggestions can be submitted through a dedicated online portal, with February 20 set as the last date for entries.
To encourage wider participation, the government has announced cash awards of Rs. 50,000 each for the top five suggestions selected through the consultation. Officials said the initiative aims to bring grassroots perspectives into fiscal planning and to reward proposals that are practical and scalable.
This public consultation is part of the state’s broader effort to make governance more transparent and responsive by inviting ordinary citizens to influence spending priorities ahead of the 2026–27 fiscal year.
