For India’s startups, MSMEs, and development teams, richer free tiers are a boon – they lower the barrier to automation and productivity. But in government and DPI contexts – where data sovereignty, auditability, and non‑manipulation are paramount – ad‑free does not automatically equal safe. Architectures serving public services must prioritise verifiable data lineage, zero‑trust controls for integrations, and migration strategies that avoid vendor lock‑in.
