Liam Gallagher Sparking Joy: Hints at Epic Oasis Reunion Despite Disdain for ‘Former’
The long-awaited Oasis reunion might finally be happening, with strong hints suggesting a tour in 2025. Former frontman Liam Gallagher has been driving the speculation, notably voicing his disdain for the term “former” on social media and sharing multiple articles about the rumored comeback. Reports indicate the band could play 10 nights each at Wembley Stadium and Manchester’s Heaton Park, venues that were pivotal during their last tour in 2009 before their split. If confirmed, this would break the record set by Taylor Swift for the most nights played at Wembley.
Fan reactions have been mixed, with a notable exchange on social media where Liam Gallagher cheekily responded to a fan criticizing Heaton Park by saying: “See you down the front you big fanny.” There’s also buzz about Oasis possibly headlining the Glastonbury festival, a spot they last filled controversially in 2004, a performance often deemed one of their worst.
Despite the 15-year hiatus, Oasis remains immensely popular. Their music continues to resonate with both old and new fans. Liam Gallagher recently enjoyed sold-out solo shows celebrating the band’s debut album “Definitely Maybe” and headlined major festivals like Reading and Leeds. Next year will also mark the 13th anniversary of their iconic album “(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?”.
The biggest question surrounds the reunion’s lineup. The ideal roster for many would be the 1995 lineup at the peak of Oasis mania. Paul “Bonehead” Arthurs has been part of Liam’s solo band for years, Gem Archer plays with Noel’s High Flying Birds, and drummer Chris Sharrock is also a potential candidate. However, original bassist Paul “Guigsy” McGuigan has been out of the music scene since 1999, while Andy Bell is currently with Ride.
The Gallagher brothers, known for their turbulent relationship, seem to have softened their hostility. Liam hinted at a reconciliation in 2017, fueling ongoing rumors about a reunion. With speculation rife and an announcement potentially imminent, fans might finally see Oasis back on stage.
