Outrage in Politics: AAP Accuses Sood of ‘Mocking’ Unauthorised Colony Leaders; BJP Strikes Back!
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has leveled serious allegations against Education Minister Ashish Sood, claiming he ridiculed party leaders from unauthorised ‘kachchi’ colonies. AAP Delhi president Saurabh Bharadwaj highlighted that despite being an MLA for four terms, Sanjeev Jha still resides in one of these colonies, emphasizing the struggles of his fellow party member Kuldeep Kumar, who also lives in Kalyanpuri. Bharadwaj accused Sood of mocking their poverty, framing it as a contemptible stance from the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Bharadwaj expressed concern over the BJP’s resistance to the rise of leaders from modest backgrounds under AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal. “Delhi’s voters will respond to such contempt,” he warned, conveying his disappointment in Sood’s alleged insensitivity towards individuals from diverse socio-economic backgrounds. “I feel deeply ashamed that a person filled with such animosity towards people’s backgrounds has been appointed as a Minister,” he added.
In response, Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva dismissed AAP’s claims as a “false narrative,” suggesting that the party is grappling with frustration after losing significant ground in the municipal elections. “Despite receiving a rejection from Delhi voters, AAP continues to fabricate falsehoods. Today, Saurabh Bharadwaj has made baseless allegations against Minister Sood that are completely detached from reality,” Sachdeva stated.
Sachdeva further asserted that the BJP commands a robust voter base in ‘kachchi’ colonies, which he believes is fueling AAP’s frustration. He warned AAP leaders to refrain from spreading misleading information to avoid further alienation from the electorate, claiming, “The people of Delhi have already withdrawn power from AAP, and they will continue to do so in future elections.”
This controversy highlights the ongoing political tensions in Delhi, particularly between AAP and BJP as they vie for influence in local governance.
