Prof. Dhrubajyoti Borah Joins RGU as Advisor to Chancellor and Author-in-Residence
Guwahati, Nov 28: Renowned medical professional, educator, and intellectual Prof. Dhrubajyoti Borah has officially joined The Assam Royal Global University (RGU) as Advisor to the Chancellor and Author-in-Residence. A former Vice Chancellor of Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences, Prof. Borah brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge.
Prof. Borah, who previously served as President of the Asam Sahitya Sabha-the premier literary organization in Assam-has made significant contributions across literature, culture, and academic fields, especially in medical and allied health sciences. His literary works have gained recognition and have been translated into multiple Indian languages. Notably, he received the Sahitya Akademi Award in 2009 for his acclaimed novel “Katha Ratnakar.”
Expressing his enthusiasm about this appointment, Dr. A.K. Pansari, Chancellor of RGU, stated, “Prof. Borah will guide strategic initiatives that integrate knowledge, creativity, and social vision into our university’s broader mission.” He further emphasized that Prof. Borah’s role as Author-in-Residence would ignite creative inspiration, enhancing the intellectual and artistic life of the campus.
RGU envisions this residency as a productive platform for reflection, dialogue, and creative engagement, intending to benefit not just students and faculty, but the entire academic community.
