Dhankhar’s Intriguing Remarks Spark Curiosity After Resignation Speech
On July 21, following his resignation from the position of Vice President, Jagdeep Dhankhar made his first public appearance in Bhopal during a book launch event. He made a mysterious reference to the ‘Chakravyuh’ while addressing the gathering at the launch of “Ham Aur Yeh Vishv,” a book authored by Manmohan Baidya, a member of the RSS National Executive Committee.
Dhankhar remarked that once someone gets trapped in this ‘Chakravyuh,’ it becomes exceedingly difficult to find a way out. He added, “May God prevent anyone from falling into this Chakravyuh. Once someone is ensnared in this web, escaping becomes very hard.” He humorously clarified, however, that he was not referring to his own experience.
His comments have sparked political conjecture, particularly regarding his abrupt resignation from the Vice Presidency and the Rajya Sabha. Dhankhar’s resignation on the first day of Parliament’s monsoon session due to health issues left the political arena astounded. Following his resignation, opposition figures criticized the government for its ‘silence’ on the matter.
During his speech, Dhankhar made another telling remark about the limitations of time, stating, “I cannot abandon my responsibilities over the fear of taking a flight; my recent past bears testimony to that.” This statement elicited laughs from the audience.
At the book launch, he also discussed the rise of information warfare and technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, and machine learning, indicating a current civilizational competition. He urged that in these challenging times, India must return to its profound traditions, noting that some individuals have drifted away from morality, spirituality, and wisdom.
In the wake of Dhankhar’s resignation, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh remarked that he remained in “complete seclusion” for 100 days post-resignation. Ramesh pointed out that Dhankhar resigned unexpectedly on the night of July 21, emphasizing that despite his continuous praise for the Prime Minister, it was evident he had been compelled to resign.
Nonetheless, in his resignation letter, Dhankhar expressed gratitude towards President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with the Council of Ministers, for their support and cooperation.
