NIA Unveils Major Breakthrough in Red Fort Car Bombing Case
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested a key suspect linked to the car bomb attack in the Red Fort area, marking a critical advancement in the ongoing terrorism investigation. Jasir Bilal Wani, also known by the alias Danish, was taken into custody by NIA officials in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. He is accused of providing essential technical support to the terrorist group responsible for the bombing that claimed ten lives and injured 32 others.
Investigators allege that Wani was involved in modifying drones and attempted to construct rockets as part of the attack’s planning. His arrest is part of the case RC-21/2025/NIA/DLI, which has seen increased focus and activity in recent weeks. According to the NIA, Wani, a resident of Qazigund in Anantnag district, collaborated closely with Umar un Nabi, identified as the main perpetrator behind the attack. The two allegedly coordinated their efforts to execute the deadly assault.
The anti-terror agency is pursuing various investigative leads, with several teams conducting operations across multiple states. Authorities are dedicated to tracking down all individuals linked to the conspiracy and bringing them to justice. This bombing represents one of the most serious terrorist incidents in the capital in recent years, prompting a comprehensive investigation that draws on resources from across the country’s security framework.
