Unveiling the Ramoji Excellence Award 2025 – A Celebration of Brilliance!
The Ramoji Excellence Awards ceremony took place on Sunday at Ramoji Film City, celebrating the 89th birthday of the esteemed Padma Vibhushan awardee Ramoji Rao. This marks the first time the awards were presented, coinciding with the launch of two dictionaries, one translating from English to Telugu and the other from Telugu to Telugu. The event was graced by notable figures, including the Vice President of India, C.P. Radhakrishnan.
The 2025 Ramoji Excellence Award recipients include several distinguished individuals across various fields. In journalism, the Excellence Award was bestowed upon Jaydeep Hordikar, a renowned journalist and writer known for over two decades of insightful reporting on India’s rural realities. His work has amplified marginalized voices and highlighted the human aspects of development.
The Young Icon Award was awarded to Srikanth Balla, founder of Ballant Industries and an alumnus of MIT. Balla is recognized as a national symbol of resilience and comprehensive leadership. His initiatives have not only advanced sustainable production but also empowered persons with disabilities.
In the arts and culture sector, Professor Satupati Prasanna Sri received recognition for his visionary efforts in creating scripts for 19 tribal languages, significantly preserving India’s indigenous literary heritage. As Vice-Chancellor of Adikavi Nannaya University, he has emerged as a leader in cultural identity and linguistic empowerment.
The Rural Development Excellence Award went to Amala Ashok Ruiya, popularly known as “Water Mother,” for her innovative water conservation initiatives that have aided drought-prone villages. Through the Akara Charitable Trust, her work has fostered livelihoods and ensured water security across India’s rural territories.
In the field of humanitarian service, Akash Tandon, founder of the street school “Pechan,” has made a significant impact by providing education to thousands of children from impoverished families in Delhi-NCR. His mission encompasses dignity, opportunities, and empowerment for marginalized communities.
Pallavi Ghosh received the Women Achiever Award for her fearless activism against human trafficking, having rescued more than 10,000 women and children, thereby affecting the lives of over 75,000 individuals. Through Impact and Dialogue Foundation, she leads national efforts in rescue, rehabilitation, and reunification.
Lastly, Professor Madhavi Latha Gali, an eminent geotechnical engineer from IISc Bengaluru, was honored for her contributions to significant national interconnectivity projects, including the Chenab railway bridge. As the head of the Center for Sustainable Technologies, she champions innovation while mentoring the next generation of engineering leaders.
