FM Sitharaman’s Upcoming 3-Day Nagaland Visit: Key Insights into Central Schemes
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is set to arrive in Nagaland on November 13 for a three-day visit. During her stay, she will engage in a series of official functions and evaluate the implementation of central government schemes in the northeastern state.
Upon her arrival at Dimapur airport, Sitharaman will travel to Kiphire, recognized as one of the state’s aspirational districts. There, she will assess ongoing development projects and welfare initiatives, according to a statement. Her itinerary includes a visit to the Kiphire district hospital, discussions with tribal leaders, and interactions with the “Lakhpati Didis” from the National Rural Livelihood Mission. She will also hold a review meeting with heads of various departments.
Sitharaman plans to inaugurate the Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Kiphire, engaging with students as she launches the NSRLM stalls and a credit outreach program at the Government High School Ground.
Later in the day, she will proceed to Kohima, where she is expected to attend the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Telangana State Network (T-SAT) and the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT). During this visit, she will also introduce the ‘SAMARTH’ digital hardware initiatives and engage with students at NIELIT-Kohima.
On the following day, Sitharaman will meet with Anganwadi workers and participate in the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan’ at the Hopongkyu Memorial Hall.
Her visit will culminate on Saturday with the inauguration of the AI Centre of Excellence for Skilling at the Nagaland Tool Room & Training Centre (NTTC) in Dimapur. Following this, she will review the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) scheme at Niathu Resort before her return to New Delhi.
