Gaurav Gogoi Urges Accountability Following Recent Terror Attacks in Delhi
Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi expressed profound sorrow on November 11 over the recent terror attacks in Pahalgam and Delhi, describing these incidents as shocking and deeply painful. He emphasized the urgent need for enhanced security measures and national unity in the face of such violence.
In a heartfelt social media post, Gogoi stated, “First Pahalgam and now Delhi. It is shocking and deeply painful to see Indian civilians succumbing to terror in 2025.” He underlined that the primary responsibility of public servants is the safety of citizens and extended his condolences to the victims, along with prayers for the injured. “At this time, the perpetrators and the facts behind this tragedy must be pursued ruthlessly. We cannot avoid introspection and accountability,” he added.
Calling for unity, Gogoi urged, “India must remain united and strong at this moment.”
Meanwhile, forensic experts and security personnel are conducting a thorough investigation of the blast site near Delhi’s Red Fort, where a devastating explosion from a Hyundai i20 resulted in eight fatalities and numerous injuries on the evening of November 10.
In response to this tragedy, the Union Home Ministry convened a high-level review meeting on the morning of November 11 at 9:30 a.m. Home Minister Amit Shah is leading the session, which includes the Intelligence Bureau (IB) Chief, the Home Secretary, the Delhi Police Commissioner, and other senior officials. They are assessing the situation and discussing additional security measures to prevent further attacks.
The explosion occurred around 6:50 p.m. near Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station when the vehicle reportedly stopped at a red light. The blast’s intensity caused significant damage to surrounding vehicles and left several passersby with severe injuries, who were quickly transported to nearby hospitals.
