Jitan Ram Manjhi Responds Strongly to ‘Vote Chori’ Allegations
Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi criticized Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, for his allegations of “vote chori” (vote theft), asserting that Gandhi will not achieve anything by continually raising the issue. Manjhi emphasized that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) does not heed Gandhi’s comments. This response follows Gandhi’s November 5 claims of widespread voter fraud, alleging that the supposed “vote chori” is a nationwide effort benefiting the ruling BJP, rather than isolated incidents in specific constituencies like Aland and Mahadevapura.
Gandhi has accused both the Central government and the Election Commission of India (ECI) of working together to undermine the country’s democratic integrity through systematic manipulation of election outcomes. He further contended that the ECI and the BJP-led government are collaborating to erode constitutional principles, claiming they aim to “steal not just constituencies but entire states.”
In reply, Manjhi stated, “This has made it obvious that he has accepted defeat. He embarked on a 11-12 day yatra concerning the vote chori issue, but what did he achieve? No one discusses it anymore except him; he is the only one fixated on vote theft. He only visits Bihar to insult the Prime Minister’s mother. When he came here, he witnessed our Chhath Puja celebrations and mocked our faith, calling it a ‘drama.’ That’s why we don’t pay attention to what Rahul Gandhi says.”
Regarding the ongoing Bihar Assembly elections, Manjhi expressed confidence in the NDA’s success, stating, “In any situation, we aim to form a government like the previous double-engine government. Following the polling on November 6, we’re confident of securing around 80-85 seats, and we expect a similar outcome on November 11. At the very least, we believe we will win 166 seats.”
