BJP Yuva Morcha’s Outrage: Gaurav Gogoi Labeled ‘Anti-Tribal’ in Protest
Thousands of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) activists rallied in Donkamukam on November 2, staging a significant protest against Gaurav Gogoi, president of the Indian National Congress in Assam and the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha. The demonstrators accused Gogoi of adopting an anti-tribal position and obstructing the development of the Karbi Anglong region.
Chanting slogans like “Gaurav Gogoi Go Back” and “Congress Down, Down,” the protesters went as far as to label Gogoi “an agent of Pakistan,” with some alleging that his wife receives a salary from the Pakistani government. As the rally gained momentum, chants of “Gaurav Gogoi must go to jail” echoed through the streets.
BJYM representatives claimed that Gogoi has persistently opposed tribal welfare initiatives and has hindered the progress of the district. A local youth leader from the BJP addressed the crowd, stating, “During 15 years of Congress rule, Karbi Anglong witnessed only unrest and no development.”
The protest culminated in a large procession throughout Donkamukam, where participants vowed to continue their campaign against the Congress MP in the days ahead.
